Michael J Okelberry

Michael J. Okelberry of Spring City, Utah and Beaver Dam, Arizona died on September 19, 2025 due to complications from dementia.

Mike was born to LaRae Wright and Dale Okelberry on March 27, 1948 in Payson, Utah. He grew up in Goshen. He loved working with his Grandpa and Dad on the family ranch gathering cows and sheep. One of his favorite memories is trailing the cows over Big Mountain.

Mike graduated from Payson High School in 1967. He proudly served his country in the Army in the Central Highlands of Viet Nam during the years 1968-1969. He was a miner, worked at Dugway Proving Grounds and Rayloc. When he retired he bought a ranch in Trout Creek. He loved the ranch and working with his cows and horses.

Mike loved to hunt, fish, dance, drive his 29 Model A, and camp. He loved fishing in Alaska and fishing and camping at Fish Lake and Otter Creek. Hunting was sacred to Mike he was always up for the challenge and could hike for miles.

Mike is survived by his wife Jyll, his four children Shawnie Bradford, Brandon Okelberry, Cole Okelberry, and Jared Johnson, seven grandchildren, five great-grandchildren and and his sister Susan Coylar. His special friends Jennifer and Jerry Vanderwal, and Chris Albert, and his fur baby Izzy. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Clair.
