Nyla Proctor

June 29, 1933 — September 14, 2011

Nyla June Proctor passed away September 14, 2011 at Odyssey Hospice in Las Vegas Nevada. Nyla June was born June 29, 1933 in Cedar City Utah to Aline Walker and Elias Wood Leigh. She married Louis Grant Proctor, October 16, 1952 at her mother's home. They were later sealed in the Las Vegas Nevada temple. Nyla and Grant moved to Boulder City Nevada in 1956 where they owned and operated an Arctic Circle drive in for several years.

Nyla and Grant enjoyed spending summers in Cedar City and Antimony Utah. At the farm in Antimony she loved being outside, helping drill three irrigation wells, planting alfalfa, cutting down trees and splitting them for firewood. She would can the fruits and vegetables Grant grew in their garden and bring them back to Boulder City for use in the fall and winter months. Watching the deer, antelope and jackrabbits eating and playing in the fields was one of her favorite pass times, as well as spending many hours at Antimony Creek and Pine Lake fishing.

Nyla is survived by her husband Grant, her sisters Bonnie Kelly of California and Thelma Butters of Salt Lake City Utah, along with many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by two sisters, Verda Baggett and Ramona Corry and two brothers, William Bevan Leigh and Edwin Elias Leigh.

Funeral services will be held Saturday September 17, 2011 at 11:00am at the Boulder City LDS Chapel on Buchanan Blvd. The viewing will precede the services. At 10: am. Burial will be at the Cedar City Cemetery Tuesday September 20, 2011 at 12:00 noon. Family invites you to sign the online memorial guestbook at www.bouldercityfamilymortuary.com .
