In Loving Memory of Patricia “Patty” Brooks Patricia “Patty” (Teel) Brooks, 83, passed away on January 24, 2026, following complications from surgery.
She was born on August 19, 1942, to Charles and Katherine (Kroescher) Teel, who preceded her in death. Patty is now reunited with her devoted husband of 52 years, Donald Wayne Brooks, as well as her sister, Mary Street, and her brother-in-law, Victor Kotalion.
Patty is survived by her sister, Gail Kotalion; her brother, Allen (Penny) Teel; her children, Angela (Bob French) Brooks-Reese, Dee Anna (Shane) McCoy, and Thomas (Danae) Brooks; and her stepchildren, Randy Brooks, Ricky Brooks, and Rusty Brooks. She also leaves behind 12 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren, along with many beloved nieces, nephews, and countless dear friends.
Known as Patty, Mom, Grandma Pat, and Aunt Pat, she was kind, gracious, and young in both heart and spirit. She never met a stranger and had an extraordinary gift for making people feel at home. Always willing to lend a helping hand, her influence reached far beyond her immediate family, shaping generations of extended family and even their friends. Truly the glue that held her family together. A social butterfly, she nurtured many close friends over her lifetime, but she found her greatest happiness surrounded by family and loved ones.
A proud veteran of the United States Air Force, Patty carried that sense of service throughout her life. She cherished travel and had a remarkable ability to find beauty wherever she went. Animals were a constant presence in her world—dogs, cats, birds, and horses found a home in her heart. She and Donald shared a deep and enduring partnership, celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary in December 2022, a milestone that reflected the strength of their love and commitment.
Patty had a personal relationship with Jesus Christ as her Savior, which guided her life. Prayer and faith helped her face cancer with determination and courage, it did not define her—and it did not defeat her, she went to meet her Savior on her terms. She remained strong, resolute, and kept her sense of humor through every challenge she encountered. Patty would want everyone to enjoy life while they can, find peace with who they are, and stand strong, fighting for what they believe in with courage and grace.
She meant more to those who loved her than words can capture, and her absence will be deeply felt. “Come, you who are blessed by my Father; take your inheritance, the kingdom prepared for you.” Matthew 25:34 A Celebration of Life where all are welcome will be held February 10th at 6 p.m. Calvary Chapel, 1646 W Pioneer #150-170, Mesquite, NV https://ccmesquitenv.org/contact-us for directions.
