Robert Trodahl

October 14, 1954 — February 19, 2017

Robert Trodahl’s story began in Chehalis, WA where he was born to Waldo and Elsie Trodahl in October 1954.  Growing up as one of 10 children, Bob was an energetic child.  He had hopes and dreams and the will to achieve them.  Throughout his life Bob had many adventures from building hotrods to being a bounty hunter.  After his wild side calmed a bit, he met his soul mate, Kimberlee on a blind date and they married in 1977.  Within six years, they had four children; Sarah, Scott, Sean and Seth.

In his professional life, Bob started with the National Park Service which allowed the family to live in such places as North Cascades, WA, John Day Fossil Beds, OR, The Grand Tetons, WY and in 1986 it brought him to the Lake Mead National Recreation area.  While working at Lake Mead in the maintenance department, a position opened up for a Fire Management Officer (Fire Chief).  He thrived in this role.  His passion for EMS and Wildland Fire was something to admire.  As Chief “Bobby T”, he worked diligently to grow a program that would gain national recognition.  He was on the forefront of a changing field and he never took “no” for an answer.  His passion for his career could be seen in every aspect of his life. Although Bob’s career came with many accolades and accomplishments, Bob was most proud to be called “Husband”, “Father”, and “Grandpa”.  He never missed a chance to spoil his wife.  He had a glimmer in his eyes when he talked about how much he loved her. Bob never forgot to give Kim a good morning and good night kiss.  As a father, Bob had a special relationship with each of his children and was so proud of them.  He constantly spoke about his eight grandchildren and touched base with them often.

As this story comes to an end… Chief Bobby T, Bob, Husband, Dad, Brother, and Friend went to be with the Lord on Sunday February 19, 2017.  He now is with his family and friends that have gone before him and he relished in the glory of Heaven.  John 5:24 “Truly, truly, I say to you, whoever hears my word and believes him who sent me has eternal life.  He does not come into judgment, but has passed from death to life”.

Services will be held at Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 1900 Veterans Memorial Drive Boulder City, NV 89005, on March 9, 2017 at 12:40 p.m.  A Celebration of life will follow the service at Bethany Baptist Church, 210 Wyoming St. Boulder City, NV.  All are welcome.  Family and friends can sign an online memorial guestbook at www.bouldercityfamilymortuary.com
