Roger James Tschetter, age 82, of Boulder City, NV passed away on September 15, 2026. He was born on June 2, 1944 in Mitchell, South Dakota to Walter Lewis and Norma Tippery. Roger married Cheryl Bayer on November 14, 1964 in Sioux Falls, SD. After attending South Dakota State University, Roger enlisted in the United States Coast Guard. He spent 22 years serving his country, stationed in Florida, Alaska, and California, before retiring in 1986. He then moved his family to Boulder City where he spent the remainder of his life.

Roger was the type of man that never met a stranger and loved to meet and talk with everyone. He was active in many different military organizations including the DAV, Chief Coast Guard Association, and volunteered many hours at the Southern Nevada Veterans Home which later became his home. He enjoyed hunting and fishing, especially during the time he spent in Alaska. He loved playing pinochle with friends while trading stories and bantering with them. However, what he enjoyed most was his family–always putting them first.

He is survived by his wife of nearly 62 years, Cheryl Tschetter; three children: Todd (Laura) Tschetter, Andrea (Mary) Tschetter, Gena (Wayne) Pool; five grandchildren Dylan (Riley), Abigail, Morgan, Elizabeth, Benjamin; two great grandchildren Brody and Oaklee, his sister Jan (Ed) Ehrmann, and a loving extended family.

Roger’s Memorial service will be held on Thursday, October 15, 2026 at 12:00 p.m, at the Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 1900 Veterans Memorial Drive in Boulder City, NV 89005.
