Emblem

Ronald “Ron” Lipski, a devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, friend, and proud United States Air Force veteran, passed away on August 6, 2026 at the age of 85.

Ron was a hardworking and dependable man who believed in taking care of the people he loved. Family was at the heart of his life, and the roles he cherished most were those of grandfather, great-grandfather, husband and father.

For 57 years, Ron shared his life with his beloved wife, Violet. Together, they built a life and family filled with love, laughter, companionship, and countless memories. Their marriage was a remarkable partnership that spanned almost six decades and became the foundation of the family they created together. Ron was the proud father of his son, Duane, and welcomed Duane’s wife, Randie, into the family not as his daughter-in-law, but at his daughter. Becoming a grandfather brought another special chapter to his life, and he treasured his granddaughters, Randa and Mary, along with their husbands, Ian and Kevin. His family continued to grow with his great-grandchildren, Zoe and Maverick Lipski, who brought even more joy to his life.

Ron also proudly served his country as a member of the United States Air Force. His military career was an important chapter of his life, including service during wartime and many years of dedication to the Air Force even after his retirement. After retiring from the USAF, Ron went on to work for the State of Nevada Department of Employment, Training & Rehabilitation, where he retired after 28 years. The commitment, strength, and sense of responsibility that guided him throughout his military service and state service were qualities he carried with him throughout the rest of his life. His family will forever be proud of his service and the sacrifices he made.

Some of Ron’s most meaningful memories were found in the traditions that brought his family together year after year. Every Christmas and Easter, making pierogies was a cherished Lipski family tradition. It was about far more than the food itself. It was time spent together in the kitchen, surrounded by conversation, laughter, familiar routines, and generations of family carrying on something special. Those days became part of the rhythm of the family’s holidays and created memories that will continue long after Ron’s passing. Each Christmas and Easter, when the family gathers to make pierogies again, a piece of Ron will be right there with them.

Outside of his family, Ron loved to golf. The golf course was a place where he could enjoy his favorite pastime, especially with his friends Bob and Troy. Naturally outgoing and social, Ron enjoyed conversation, laughter, and being around people. He had a way of making everyday moments memorable simply by being part of them. He will miss his weekly breakfast at Lumberjacks with his friend Steve and his frequent neighborhood watch updates with Jim and Betty.

Those who knew Ron knew they could count on him. He worked hard, showed up for the people who mattered to him, and took pride in the life and family he helped build. His legacy will not be measured simply by the number of years he lived, but by the generations of family who will carry his love, stories, lessons, traditions, and memory forward.

Ron is lovingly remembered by his wife of 57 years, Violet Lipski; his son and daughter, Duane and Randie Lipski; his granddaughters, Randa (Ian) Garvey and Mary (Kevin) Lipski, his great-grandchildren, Zoe Ruiz and Maverick Lipski, his brother Randolph (Barbara) Lipski; and numerous nieces and nephews.

For those who loved him, there will always be reminders of Ron: a day spent on the golf course, a breakfast at Lumberjacks, a rant on the news, flour on the kitchen counter while the family makes pierogies for Christmas and Easter, and the pride that comes with remembering his years of service not only to his country but to the State of Nevada. Most of all, he will be remembered in the family gatherings where his presence will be deeply missed but his influence will always remain.

Ron was deeply loved, and he will be deeply missed. The family he spent a lifetime loving will carry him with them always.

Forever loved. Forever remembered. Always part of our family. And an honorary “There’s dirt in my backyard that’s older than you” member.
