Ruby Claudine Hill, 81, of Henderson, Nevada, passed away peacefully at home on March 18, 2026, surrounded by her loved ones. She was born on September 17, 1944, in Floyd County, Virginia, to the late Homer Dillard Sweeney and Ora Elizabeth Shively. She married Ronald Eugene Hill on April 16th, 1975, at the Old Stone Church Public Square in Cleveland, Ohio.
Claudine, as she preferred to be called, was known for her quiet strength, humility, and deep, unwavering love for her family. She pursued cosmetology in her early years after high school and later worked as an office professional before finding her true calling as a daycare provider in Strongsville, Ohio. There, she opened both her home and her heart, caring for children. Her nurturing spirit and genuine kindness left a lasting impact on all who knew her. Her proudest accomplishment, as she often said, was her boys—everything she did was for them.
She found joy in life’s simple but meaningful moments: cooking for her family, decorating for the holidays, bowling with friends, crocheting, listening to music, and dancing. She especially treasured the years spent taking trips to Las Vegas with family and dear friends, memories she held close to her heart.
For seven years, Claudine faced a courageous battle with dementia. Even through that journey, she carried herself with grace, compassion, and quiet strength. Her love and selflessness never wavered, displaying a type of resilience that was nothing short of remarkable.
She is survived by her sons, Michael (Brandy) Hill of Henderson, Nevada, and Joseph Hill of Strongsville, Ohio; and her cherished grandchildren—Jaden, Ryan, Maddison, Gracie, Saylor, Michael Jr., and Dutton—each of whom brought her immense pride and joy.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Ronald Eugene Hill; parents Homer and Ora Sweeney; and siblings, brother Cleo and sister Patricia.
Funeral services will be held Friday, April 10, 2026, at 12:00 PM at the Veterans Memorial, 1900 Veterans Memorial Dr., Boulder City, NV. Friends and family are welcome from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM.
