It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our son, brother, father, grandfather, uncle, cousin and friend. Shawn Baldwin, who left us at the young age of 51, on Saturday, February 21, 2026.
Born in Payson Utah in 1974 to Samuel and Sandra Keel Baldwin. Shawn grew up in Payson Utah, graduating from Payson High School in 1992. He married Melinda Pay February 3, 1995. Together they raised two children, Dutch and Tiera. He worked in the construction industry all his life. His life was marked by the challenges, resilience, and deep love, he is now at peace.
He found joy in fishing, hunting, trapping and spending time outdoors. He was a kind loving soul who cared deeply for his family and friends. While he carried more than his share of burdens, he also carried a heart full of love and compassion for the lives of everyone around him.
Shawn was a kind sensitive soul who faced many battles throughout his life. Though the road was often difficult, he carried a quiet strength that touched the lives of those who knew him. His struggles never dimmed his compassion, his sense of humor, or his love for his family.
He is survived by his mother Sandra B. Catlin, his brothers Shane (Mia) and Shad Baldwin, his children Dutch (Megan) and Tiera (Skyler) Baldwin, one granddaughter (Olivia), stepmother Christie Baldwin, five stepsisters, nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles. We will forever hold his memory close to our hearts. We take comfort in knowing that his pain has ended, and he has found peace.
He was preceded in death by his wife Melinda Pay, his father Samuel Baldwin, his stepfather Art Catlin and his grandparents.
A celebration of his life will take place at his graveside Saturday, March 14, 2026 starting at Noon. Fillmore City Cemetery, 325 East 600 South Fillmore, Utah, where we will remember his spirit and say our goodbyes.
The family of Sandra Catlin would like to express their deepest thanks for the incredible outpouring of love and support they have received during this difficult time. Every call, message, prayer, card, shared memory and warm meal has meant more than can be put into words. Your kindness has brought comfort to our hearts. A special thanks to Mesa View Hospice in Mesquite, Nevada.
