Stephen A Smith

Stephen A. Smith, 73 passed peacefully at home on May 16, 2026, in Boulder City. He was born on July 28, 1952 to William A. Smith & Virginia Maier Smith.

Stephen grew up in Las Vegas, attending Crestwood Elementary, John C. Fremont Middle School and Las Vegas High School, where the many friendships he formed lasted more than 60 years and remained dear to him until his passing.

He was a Navy Veteran, Stephen spent much of his career in the gaming industry, working primarily at the Las Vegas Hilton and the MGM Grand until his retirement.

Stephen enjoyed water sports, hunting, fishing and golfing with friends. He especially loved sharing stories of “Old Vegas”, the many people he met throughout his life and the unforgettable adventures he experienced along the way.

He is survived by his loving wife Marjorie Smith of Boulder City, son, Justin Smith (Cruz), of Minden, NV, daughter, Gemie Knisely (Kevin) of Castelo Branco, Portugal, Hanna, Sonny & Jenee of Las Vegas. Sisters, Rebecca Cook & Linda Angelo. Grandchildren, Hunter, Ethan, Grant, Grace, Zayne, Tiara, Zavion & Zaden; nephew Michael; and many cousins, extended family members & cherished friends.

Services will be held at the Veterans Cemetery Chapel in Boulder City on June 2, 2026, at noon, followed by a Celebration of Life at the Elks in Boulder City from 1:00 – 3:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Nathan Adelson Hospice.
