Susan Parrella

June 24, 1951 — May 13, 2026

Henderson

Susan Parrella, 74, passed away on Wednesday May 13th at Nathan Adelson Hospice in Las Vegas, Nevada. She was born June 24th, 1951.

Susan moved to Rumford, Maine in 1972 with her new husband, Anthony Parrella, and they raised two children together, Nicholas and Allison. When her children were older she started working in the communications department for Boise Cascade and subsequently Mead Paper Company. Ready for a change they moved to Portland, Maine in 2000, where she started a new career as a Financial Analyst. Upon retirement in 2015 they moved with their son, Nicholas, to Henderson, Nevada to be closer to her daughter Allison's family.

Susan always prioritized her family over everything else and was constantly thinking of ways to improve their lives.

Her husband will always remember her as a loving wife and the way she would give to others and refused to be acknowledged for her act of service. She always put others first and showed great compassion.

Her son Nicholas will always remember her for how much she cared about everyone, especially her family.

Her daughter will always remember her for saying, "Let me give you a piece of advice..." and the words of wisdom that followed.

Her son-in-law, Alex, will always remember her for the Friday night dinners and her amazing cooking. He never thought of her as his monster-in-law, as much as she liked to say she was.

Her grandson, Julian will always remember her for her life lessons and teaching him how to make his favorite recipes.

Her granddaughter, Noemie will always remember her for her love of nature and the times they went thrift store shopping together.

Her sister, Margaret will always remember her for when they grew up together and spending time together when she visited her family in England.

Susan enjoyed hiking, knitting and loved to cook for her family and friends. She made the most incredible quiche, that was always making appearances in her daughter's refrigerator. She also earned her senior red belt in Tae Kwon Do, one belt below black, an amazing accomplishment for someone who started the martial art in her late 60's. She found true peace when she became an Orthodox Christian, the church was her foundation in her final years.

Susan's funeral will be held on June 5th at Saint Paul's Orthodox Church, followed by her burial at the Veterans Memorial cemetery in Boulder City, Nevada. Please leave your condolences and memories at www.starmortuary.com
