Thomas Gorham

August 3, 1927 — January 11, 2018

Thomas Jesse Gorham was born to Ethel (Marick) Gorham and Van Fleet Gorham on August 3, 1927 in Franklin, NE.  Tom departed this life in Boulder City, NV, on Jan 11th at the age of 90.

Tom was the youngest of four brothers.  He attended Franklin Public School from the 1st through the 12th grade, and graduated in 1945.  He then moved to Lincoln, where he attended the University of Nebraska.  Soon after, in 1946, he was drafted into the Army and served until February 1947.  He then returned to UNL where he graduated with distinction in Business Administration.  He continued his post-graduate education, graduating from the UNL Law School in the Spring of 1952.

Tom practiced law in Lincoln for many years, while also serving as Lincoln’s part-time County Prosecutor for several years.  He was also very active in the Lincoln community.  Tom volunteered for Nebraska Public Television, and served on the boards of the Lincoln Symphony Orchestra, and the Lincoln Community Playhouse.  A life-long learner, Tom earned a pilot’s license and enjoyed flying smaller Cessna aircraft.

In 1987, Tom reunited with his High School companion, Naomi Rogers.  They were married on Feb 23, 1990 and settled in Lincoln, where Tom sold homes for Home Real Estate.  Tom retired in 1997, and the couple ultimately moved to Boulder City, NV in 2002.

Likeable, with a great sense of humor, Tom loved children, animals, Cornhusker Football, gardening, classical music, and sailing.

Tom is survived by his devoted wife, Naomi Gorham of Boulder City, NV, and his children; Susan Cross, Denver, CO; Ann (Mark) Moore, Lincoln, NE; Rick Webb, Aurora, CO; Steve (Joan) Gorham, Lincoln, NE; and Lana Mossberger, San Diego, CA.  He also leaves behind many grandchildren, and one great grandchild.
