Timothy Drew Augustine unexpectedly passed away on Saturday, May 16, 2026. Drew was a force of nature. Everything he did, he did big. From movie nights with all the theater treats you could eat, to his dance moves. It was impossible not to be impressed by his energy, wit, and charisma. To know him, is to have been hugged by him, and he gave the best hugs. Drew was the epitome of the phrase ‘never met a stranger’. He made friends everywhere he went. He was quick with a joke (often inappropriate ones), and he genuinely wanted to know everyone’s story. Of course, this meant he was known to strike up conversation with total strangers and to walk away with a new friend. It also made him very successful in his sales career. He thrived in orthopedic sales and was especially fond of working alongside his beloved dad, Tim, early in his career with Biomet. Most recently, he fulfilled his long-held goal of having his own distributorship when he started with Novosource orthopedics.
Drew was born April 19, 1980, in Salt Lake City, Utah. According to his mother, he came into the world with an innate ability to “feel the music” which explained his affinity for dance and his love of song. He always felt that he missed his true calling---to be in a band. He loved to sing along to his favorite tunes and would pour over lyrics and compositions. Going to concerts and music festivals were some of his fondest memories and the best of times with our friends and family. He loved to push his limit snowboarding the mountains of Utah. His other favorite places to push the limit were wakeboarding on Lake Powell and Lake Mead.
Everyone who knows Drew has a story, but what he would want to be remembered for most is his huge heart. He loved underdogs and always stood up for the vulnerable. His favorite emotion was righteous indignation. He was protective and loving, and most of all, he was compassionate and did not judge people for their shortcomings because he knew that everyone deserved love. He was a study in contrasts. Loud and brash, but quiet and contemplative over life’s big questions. Physically imposing and tough but easily moved to tears by kind words and birthday wishes from his family. Yelling at the television while watching a UFC fight and then leaving a heartbreakingly beautiful poem for his wife in her car. He made the world brighter and more vibrant. He loved fiercely and felt deeply.
Drew was preceded in death by his momma Carol and his father Tim. He is survived and missed by his sisters: Ashli Luna (Chuck), Carissa Barrow (Brandon), Kyli Grenier (Bryan) Emyli Schulz (Colton) and Courtnee Stone (Jaden);10 nieces and nephews, his grandmothers Ann Tarbet, Kay Depew and Kris Clements, his ‘village of moms’ aunt Laurie, Sherrie and Ruth; his Augustine aunts and uncles: Kathy, Teresa, Virgil, Pat, and Greg; his mother Jodi Evans; his daughter Bailee Whittaker; in-laws Leo, Rona and Amber Poling; and he will be forever missed by the love of his life and wife of 18 years, Nicole, and one very special little dog, Sugar. You filled our hearts, Pooks. We loved you, for you.
