Valerie Ann Valerio, 63, passed away in Littlefield, Mohave County, Arizona. She was born on November 6, 1962, at Hill Air Force Base in Utah.
Valerie grew up primarily in Utah, with a chapter of her life spent in Washington State. She was someone who found joy in the simple, meaningful things—playing disc golf and golfing with her boys, thrifting with her sister Debbie, drawing, and building things with her hands. She cherished time spent with her family and friends, filling those moments with laughter, creativity, and connection.
She was a mother whose love ran deep and true. If you were loved by Valerie, you knew it without question. She carried a radiant spirit—full of wisdom, energy, kindness, and care. Through her love and example, she raised her sons to be strong, compassionate men who now carry forward the same love she gave so freely. The laughter and warmth she placed in their hearts will continue to ripple outward every single day.
Valerie also shared a special and lasting bond with her dear friend, Charles “Charley” Heape, with whom she lived for over a decade. Their friendship was one of loyalty, support, and genuine care—two people showing up for each other through life’s seasons, sharing laughter, challenges, and countless meaningful moments. Charley’s big heart and steadfast presence meant so much to Valerie, and their connection was a true example of what enduring friendship looks like.
Toward the later part of her life, Valerie deepened her relationship with God in a way that brought her great joy and peace. While her faith had always been with her, she found herself reconnecting more deeply, embracing that relationship with a renewed spirit. During this same time, she was also reconnecting with her siblings, sharing laughter, memories, and meaningful moments together. These connections meant the world to her and brought her immense happiness.
Valerie is survived by her two sons, Mack Jones and Dillon Sereika (Melissa); her brother, Sammie Valerio (Cindy); her sisters, Angel Thomson (Kael), Bridgette Kendall (Mark), Heather Carlin; her stepfather, Brent Carlin; and Debbie Campbell (Bruce). She also leaves behind four beloved grandchildren, Avery, Dillon, Kaylee, and Bryan, along with many nieces and nephews who will miss her dearly.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Sam Valerio and Maria Guibord (Joe); her sisters, Lenore Valerio and Tiffany Shoemaker; and her son, Brandin Norton.
The family wishes to express their sincere thanks to the individuals who stopped at the scene, providing care, comfort, and efforts to revive her while awaiting first responders. Your kindness during those critical moments means more than words can say.
Valerie will be deeply missed and forever remembered for the love she gave, the strength she instilled, and the light she brought into the lives of everyone who knew her. A celebration of Valerie’s life will be held at a later date.
