William Douglas Franks

William Douglas Franks, age 85, passed away Tuesday, January 31, 2023 in Mesquite, Nevada.  He was born June 11, 1937 in Los Angeles, California to Williams Douglas and Edwina Baldwin Franks.  On May 14, 1960, he married Diane Veronica Kvietkus in Bridgeport, CA, she preceded him in death on September 15, 2014.

William grew up in Santa Monica, CA and joined the United States Army.  He attended Cal Poly where he received his Bachelor’s Degree.  He viewed this as his biggest achievement.  He later went on to obtain two Masters Degrees. William was a Police Chief, he liked to travel, hike and enjoyed Beach Volleyball.

He is survived by his daughter, Laura; two sons, Douglas and Christopher; eight grandchildren and two great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife and brother, Douglas Bronson.
